Our Pastors

Leslie Hutchinson

Leslie taught history in a Belfast grammar school for ten years before going to the Irish Baptist College to train for the ministry. After leaving college he became pastor of Strandtown Baptist Church in June 1986. He also serves as a member of the Executive Committee and the Missions Board of the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland. He is married to Heather and they have four children – Colin, Emma, Lucy and Peter.

Jim Cheshire

Jim is the newest member of the team at Strandtown. He joined us in early 2004 as Associate Pastor, after serving for several years in West Church, Bangor. Jim is originally from Florida but has been in Northern Ireland since 1999. He is married to Diane and they have a young daughter, Eva, and a new son, Ethan.
